The City of Clearwater is currently accepting applications for the City Clerk position. The City Clerk is a salaried position which performs supervisory and some managerial duties. This is a working supervisory employee who makes personnel decisions and recommendations, oversees financial transactions and accountability systems, processes payroll for all city enterprises, and serves as the public information officer. This employee is responsible for maintaining official city records, ordinances, resolutions and contracts and responds to public information requests from the general public.
Ideal candidates will have a strong municipal management background and career focus including experience with public utilities; demonstrated record of successfully managing and completing complex projects and assignments; commitment to teamwork, excellent supervisory and administrative skills and serves the interest of the entire community. Candidate must have strong skills in finance, budgeting, personnel, community relations and a basic knowledge of local government operations. Attends evening meetings and public hearings of the City Council and Planning Commission.
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, records management, public administration, or closely related field preferred, with at least five years experience in accounting and two years at a supervisory level. Residency within city limits required.
