The Fall Fest parade will begin at 11 a.m. this Saturday. The parade will begin at the southwest corner of the park on Cranmer, proceed south to Parallel, east to 8th Street, south on 8th to Spring View Manor where the parade will turn east and head back north on 7th to Spring, then east on Spring to 4th.
The Cardinalaires will sing when the parade arrives at the grandstand in front of the City Building.
Larry Roth will be the parade announcer. Charles Ellis is the 2013 Parade Marshal.
• Parade line-up information – All entries enter from St. Louis St. and should be assembled by 10:15 a.m. for judging in the CSHS parking lot, except for the color guards, police, EMS, and the CSHS and CSMS bands.
• Road closings for Fall Fest – All day Saturday: Smith, from 8th to Cranmer; Cranmer, from Spring to the high school; Wichita north of the park; and 8th from the alley north of the carnival to Smith will be closed to cars and parking until after the car show. Part of 8th Street and Spring Avenue from 7th to 8th will be closed for the carnival from Thursday to Sunday. Saturday morning only: Spring Avenue (Main Street) between 6th and 7th will be closed until after the parade. Intersections along the run route (on Cranmer, 7th, and Parallel) will be blocked while runners pass. During the parade, the parade route will be closed to traffic.
• Access: The Conway Springs All Wheels Car Show will be located on Cranmer north of Spring, and Wichita from Cranmer to 8th. There will be no access through that area until after 4 p.m. Unloading access for booths in the park will be on Cranmer, from Smith to Spring, on the west side of the park. During the run, intersections will be temporarily blocked for runners along 7th and Parallel from 7th and Spring and back.
