A small electrical fire closed Jim's Foodliner in Cheney early on Wednesday afternoon, but the store has been cleared to reopen and will do so at 7 a.m. Thursday.
A short in a wire caused a small fire behind a cooler mid-afternoon on Wednesday. The fire was quickly extinguished. Damage was minimal and there was very little smoke to contend with.
"It was a small electrical fire. As a precaution, we called (the fire department) and had them check it out," said owner Jim McGuffey.
The store was aired out immediately after and the Cheney Fire Department checked things out following the fire. A health inspector was on site Wednesday and cleared to store to reopen on Thursday at its regular time.
