She grew up helping her parents on the family farm. She was born again at the age of 14, was baptized in a nearby pond on Nov. 30, 1941, and became a member of High Point Baptist Church. She attended high school at Faith Bible Academy where she met Irvin Palmer from Wichita.

They were married Oct. 5, 1946. They had three children, Rita, John, and Gena. They spent most of their 76 years together in and around Wichita. She was a seamstress for Rice Stix, Dickson Jenkins, and retired from Wichita Shirt Company.

She also volunteered extensively in service to her community. She served with Meals on Wheels, disaster relief following a Haysville tornado, and served in the Good Neighbor Nutrition Program at the Haysville Senior Center.

A member of First Baptist Church of Haysville, she faithfully served in many capacities. She especially enjoyed her Rebecca Sunday School Class, the JOY fellowships and choir. She also sang for 23 years with the Celebration choir (as long as health permitted).

Nadine loved gardening. She took great pride in her collection of flowers and in growing a variety of vegetables. She enjoyed sewing and crafting gift items for her family and friends.

It was also her pleasure to send special occasion greeting cards to a vast mailing list of friends and family.

She took great joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, on whom she always showered the greatest of love and admiration.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Palmer.
