Staff report TSnews CHENEY – The membership of Farmers Cooperative Elevator Company has approved a merger between the cooperative and Kanza Cooperative. The vote, which took place last Thursday in Cheney, was the second attempt to approve a merger between Cheney-based Farmers Cooperative and Kanza Cooperative, which is based in Iuka in Pratt County.

Staff report TSnews GODDARD – As expected, the Sedgwick County Commission voted to reject an incentive package for an apartment complex planned in Goddard’s STAR bond district. Commissioners voted unanimously against a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District which would have gone to help developers build a 100-unit apartment complex.

Staff report TSnews GODDARD – One person was arrested and another person was hospitalized following a shooting in the parking lot at Walmart in Goddard on Saturday. The shooting happened around 5 p.m.
