Barbara Sue Morris, age 59, died at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on March 10. 2024.

She was born Nov. 13, 1964, in Slidell, La., to William Fletcher and Artis Bates Morris. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by partner James Booker and daughter Samantha Morris, both of Houston, Mo.; sister, Becky (Dan) Funke of Goddard; several nieces; and other extended family.

Barbara grew up in Viola, where the family moved in 1967. She attended Conway Springs public schools, graduating with the class of 1983. She worked for several years at Wescon Plastics in Wichita. Barbara moved to Houston, Mo. in 2004. She was a baker at the local Hardees.

A come-and-go celebration of life will be Saturday, March 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the lower pavilion at Emmett Kelley Park in Houston.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite pet rescue or local humane society.
