Board game event is Saturday in Wichita
WICHITA – The 13th Community Family Board Game Mega Event will be held Saturday at K-State Research and Extension- Sedgwick County, located in Wichita at 21st Street North and Ridge.
This event will run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is open to the public at no cost.
Bonding thru Board Games is an evidence- based K-State Research & Extension program to help strengthen families’ relationships thru board games and soft skills development.
Do you know board games foster the six characteristics found in strong families worldwide? Board Games help develop quality time with each other, fostering appreciation, opening venues for effective communication, paving the path for passing values and convictions, gaining resilient coping skills, and ultimately committing to each other.
Playing board games also helps develop top five soft skills needed at home, school, and eventually the workforce environment.
This year will again feature the “step and repeat” banner where families will have the opportunity to take pictures. Families can dress up from home as a family board game character. Take photos at the event and have fun.
