Derby’s April Calendar

Derby Historical Museum Open

Saturday, April 1 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ The Historical Museum The Historical Museum will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from April 1 through October 28. The Museum will be participating in the City of Derby’s Third Thursday spring and fall events. Learn more at DerbyKS.com/thirdthursday. The Museum is also open on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. FREE

Camp DRC

April 7, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Hubbard Arts Center Spend the day with your friends! Engage in a variety of themed games and activities. Bring a lunch, water bottle, swim suit and towel each day.

$25 per child per day.

Safe Sitter Babysitting Class

April 7, 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM @ Hubbard Arts Center

Learn the skills and knowledge to be a safe babysitter, care for younger siblings and stay home alone. Safe Sitter classes are for students in grades 6-8. Registration deadline is April 1. $45 per person

Senior Tuesdays

April 11, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Hubbard Arts Center

Senior Tuesdays is for adults 55 and better. Join us at 10:00am for coffee and a light snack then an activity, demonstration, or speaker at 10:30am. Pre-registration recommended. Learn about famous female artists then create a mini-original of your own. $5 per person.

Derby City Council Meeting

April 11, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ City Hall The Derby City Council will hold its regular meeting at City Hall.

Meetings are aired live on Cox Cable Channel 7 in Derby and streamed live and available on demand at DerbyKS.com/Channel7.

Young Artist: Acrylic Paint Pour for Teens

April 15, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Hubbard Arts Center

LAcrylic paint pouring is a fun new painting technique. Students will learn three unique painting techniques taking home three original works of art. Ages 10-15.$17 per person.

Sewing 101: Basics Workshop for Tees

April 16, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Hubbard Arts Center

Students gain knowledge of machine parts, how they work, operation, types of needles and threads, and basic troubleshooting. Time is dedicated to learning basic stitches. Materials and sewing machines provided. Students may bring their own machine. Registered adults may sew with their teen.

Ages 10-15. $45 per person

Taste of Derby

April 20, 4:00 - 8:00 PM

Come along with us as “A Taste of Derby” hits the road again in 2023! A Taste of Derby is a one night event where attendees travel around Derby and visit participating restaurants/businesses to enjoy food or drink samples and compete against others in a mobile trivia contest to win a prize! $10 Per Person
