Letha Marie Halsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Halsey of Conway Springs and LeRoy Beery of Wichita, were married at Huntsville Ark., last Friday morning, March 14. Supt. C.A. Arterburn and drama coach James O. Fairless took the members of the high school play cast that presented “Submerged” to the district speech and dramatic festival in 'Haven Saturday. The cast included Jay Robinson, Harold Gilges, Gerald Prilliman, Keith Small, Chester Arterburn and Helmut Macher.
The March meeting of the Parents-Teachers Association will be at the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27. Miss Harriett Cornwell, and instructor in the Wichita Institute of Logopedics, will be the speaker.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wayne Parris from the local Church of the Brethern this Wednesday afternoon for Mervin Funk, 62, retired railroader. Mervin died at his home early Monday morning.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church last Thursday afternoon for F.M. Kaiser, 90, who died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.M. Cranmer, on March 10.
Rev. and Mrs. C.A. Reagan moved Tuesday from Wichita to the Presbyterian Manse here. Formal installation services for him will be held at the Presbyterian church next Sunday evening, March 23. Conway Springs is to host the high school musicians and music supervisors of Sumner County at the first Sumner County High School Music Festival being held in the local gym this Thursday evening and Friday.
