Imogene Smith Beat, 95, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Anness, Kan., to Walter and Fern Smith on March 28, 1928. She was one of 10 children and the mother of two boys, Gary & Terry Voth.

Imogene grew up working on the family farm, ran a dry-cleaning business, and retired from Cargill after 25 years. She is best remembered for her witty charm and tremendous sense of humor. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and watching her grandkids' activities. Her hobbies included fishing, golfing, flowers, and a love for KU basketball and her church home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Fern; six brothers, Arthur, Claude, Glen, Max, Dale and Clyde; three sisters, Lorene, Pauline, and Bonnie Lou; her son, Terry Voth; and great-granddaughter, Leah Overlees.She is survived by son, Gary (Theo) Voth; daughter-in-law, Paula Voth; grandchildren, Angie Overlees, Shane Overlees, Aaron Voth, Matt (Aly) Voth, Kate (Matt) Rohr, and Brooke (Eric) Brown; great-grandkids, Taylor (Gabe), Logan, Harrison, Jack, Landry, Hank, Luke, Ava, Olivia, Nina, and Cecil; and great-great-grandchild, Dutton.

Visitation with family was 5-7 pm Sunday, March 17, at Wulf Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain. Service was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at Trinity United Christian Church, Cheney. Burial followed Fairview Cemetery, Cheney.
