Virginia Kay Crowell
Virginia Kay Crowell, 62, of Longton, Kan., passed away Thursday June 6, 2024, at her residence in Longton. Virginia was born on Oct. 27, 1961, to father Patrick E. Crowell and mother Sara Nell Odell.
Virginia enlisted in the Army, where she proudly served her country. While in the military, she also participated in volleyball and softball teams representing the Army.
Virginia also participated in playing softball and volleyball in Coffeyville, as well. Growing up, Virginia would always go fishing, trying to come home with a full stringer of fish to feed the whole family. She also would dry snakeroot and sell it to help out with taking care of the family.
Virginia will be know as a very hard worker, who loved all of her family very much, especially her adopted kids. She also would do anything she could to help anyone.
Virginia is survived by her life partner, Janet Minko; father, Patrick Crowell; daughters, Edna Crowell and Lexi Crowell; siblings, Becky Macy, Debbie Denholm and husband Gregg, Steven Crowell and wife Kristan, Patrick Crowell and wife Melaine, Christy Forman and husband Darrell, Kathy Folsom and husband Paul, and Charles Crowell and wife Ellen; grandchildren, Annabelle and Ezra; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Sara Nell Odell, and her sister, Judy Andra. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 18, at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, at 1 p.m.
