Inez Katherine Vohs, 83, of Haysville, passed away March 15, 2024, at Catholic Care Center, Wichita.

She was born Nov. 18, 1940, in Galatia, the daughter of Alfred and Clara Polzin Reif.

A longtime area resident, she was a funeral director and embalmer in various states.

She was a current member of Saint Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville. Inez was an active member in the Catholic faith which resonated in each parish that she was a member of. She was a 1958 graduate from Osborne High School and a 1982 graduate from Central State University, now known as University of Central Oklahoma, with a bachelor of science degree. She enjoyed music, quilting, sewing, gardening, fishing and was a big sports fan, especially basketball, she loved going and watching her grandkids and great-grandkids play.

In June of 1958, she married Ralph Edmund Vohs. They later divorced.

Survivors include son, Gerald Vohs, Haysville; daughter, Mary (Kelly) Evans, Herman, Neb.; four brothers, Charles (Lucille) Reif, Plainville; Robert Reif, Phoenix, Ariz., Alfred “Al” Reif Jr., Osborne, and Victor Reif, Osborne; three sisters, Alice Snyder, Oolagah, Okla., Virginia Wench, Manhattan, and Theresa Boxum, Lebanon; two granddaughters, Christie Solko and Kate (Adam) Behrendt; and four great-grandchildren, Braden Colglazier, Cade Colglazier, Will Behrendt, Milo Behrendt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three infant children, Loretta Ann Vohs, Pauline Ann Vohs, and Jane Ann Vohs; two brothers, Edgar Reif and Arthur Reif; and a sister, Elizabeth Yarnell.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Saint Aloysius Parish, Osborne, with Father Daryl Olmstead presiding. Private family inurnment will be in the Saint Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Osborne.
