Timothy E. Peterson, 70, of Conway Springs, died Monday, July 1, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita.

Tim was born Jan. 31, 1954, in Kingman to Kenneth Ray Peterson and Violet Fern (Davy) Peterson. He grew up on a farm west of Conway Springs. He attended school at Milton one year and Conway Springs public schools. He graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1974.

Tim was united in marriage to Marilyn Ann (Mies) Peterson on Sept. 8, 1979, in Conway Springs. They made their home in Argonia. In 2016, they moved to Conway Springs and made their home at 129 S. Highland. Marilyn passed away July 23, 2023.

Tim worked at Cessna Aircraft before becoming employed at Metal-Fab in Wichita in the manufacturing of metal venting products. He later retired after 31 years with the company.

Tim was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church, and formerly active in local 4-H and the Sumner County Antique Tractor Association. He was a huge admirer and passionate fan of John Wayne western movies, collective items and memorabilia.

Tim also was preceded in death by his father in 1997 and his mother in 2016.

He is survived by one son, Troy Peterson of Conway Springs; two brothers, Wayne Peterson and wife Kathy of Argonia, and Daniel Peterson of Pratt; one sister, Mary Kocher and husband Duane of Turon; several nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at St.
