GARDEN PLAIN – Kansas singer and songwriter Katie Ziegler will perform on Saturday night as part of a new Concert in the Park series in Garden Plain.

Ziegler will perform from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the stage pavilion at Garden Plain City Park, 620 Section Line Road (295th Street West).

She also will perform in about a month at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. Ziegler began writing songs at 11 years old, and picked up guitar at 16. She played local talent shows and got accustomed to being on stage. At 17, she opened for CMT recording artists The McClymonts, who hail from Australia.

Ten years later, she has recorded her own songs with Emmy-winning producer/engineer Carter Green of Wellington. Her first single, “He Ain’t Yours,” was released in August 2022.

Garden Plain Mayor Kevin Hammond said he is excited to have Ziegler perform in Garden Plain. With the help of local sponsors, the City of Garden Plain will sponsor other activities more frequently.

Popcorn and bottled water will be provided by Garden Plain State Bank.

Attendees should bring chairs and other refreshments.
