Cindy Kim (Barnes) Hodges of Harper, retired LPN, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.
Kim was born Nov. 3, 1959, in Wichita, to Darrel Dean Barnes and Carol (Tull) Barnes. She grew up in Norwich, where she attended Norwich Public Schools and graduated in 1977.
Kim was united in marriage to Robbie Royce Hodges on Sept. 11, 1983, in Norwich. They made their home in Harper, where they raised their family.
Kim worked as an LPN at Sumner Regional Medical Center and Caldwell District Hospital for more than 20 years. She then decided to finish her LPN career at Anthony Care Clinic in Anthony. After she retired as an LPN, she continued in the medical field as a caregiver to her granddaughters, Meeka and Mabry.
Kim was a member of the Milton Methodist Church in Milton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darrel Barnes, and one son, Jeremy Barnes.
Kim is survived by her daughter, Melissa McGuire (husband James) of Newton; one son, Casey Hodges (wife Trisha) of Harper; her mother, Carol Barnes of Norwich; her brothers, Randy Barnes of Wichita, and Kerry Barnes (wife Jan) of Wichita; and her sister, Karen Bird (Richard) of Emporia. She was an amazing MIMI to eight grandchildren, Gus (Zoey) Carson, Meeka, Mabry, Dax, Libby, and Gatlin, Alistar and one great-granddaughter, Waylin.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Milton Methodist Church, Milton, with Pastor Byoung Lee officiating. Private interment will be at a later date.
