Gayle E. Thornbro, 66, of Norwich, died Oct. 14, 2024.
She was born Oct. 7, 1957 in Kingman, the daughter of Otis and Virginia Sjogren Coon. A Norwich resident most of her life, she was formerly the vice president of the Kansas Credit Association.
Gayle was a member of the Milton Baptist Church.
Gayle Elaine Thornbro is survived by her beloved husband, Michael A. Thornbro, of the home. Her beautiful life will always be cherished by her children, Jennifer R. Garza and her husband Joel of Oklahoma, Nicholas J. Thornbro of Vermont, Amanda E. Fernandez and her husband Fausto of Oman, and Andrew V. Thornbro and his wife Jessica of Illinois; 17 precious grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her wonderful mother in-law, Peggy Thornbro of Kansas; her dear siblings, sister Nancy Walker of Kansas, brother Allen Coon and his Betty of Colorado, and Frank Coon and his wife Leslie of Kansas; and her treasured sister in-law Linda Setter and husband Bob of Missouri, brother in-law Johnny Thornbro and his wife Debbie of Alabama, and Mary Greenway and her husband Rich of North Carolina; and 27 cherished nieces and nephews. Gayle was preceded in death by her adored parents, Virginia and Otis Coon; her father-in-law, John Thornbro; brother in-law, Neill Wheeler; amazing niece, Kimberly Jean Thornbro; and treasured grand baby, Garza.
Visitation with the family was 5-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the Milton Baptist Church. Funeral service was at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, also at the Milton Baptist Church. Burial was in the Eden Cemetery.
