Michael L. Freund, 75, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at his home in Conway Springs.

Mike was born on Sept. 19, 1949, to Raymond Crist Freund and Lela Fern (Hardesty) Freund. He grew up in Conway Springs where he attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Conway Springs public schools. He graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1967.

Mike was united in marriage to Victoria J. Ybarra on April 21, 1972, at Wellington. They made their first home in Wichita before moving to Conway Springs in 1976, where they raised their two sons.

Mike worked as a quality control inspector at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. He retired in 2015.

Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Omar Ray Freund; and one sister, Diane O’Neal.

Mike is survived by his wife, Vicky Freund; two sons, Jeff Freund (Raegan) and Ric Freund (Taryn), all of Wichita; one brother, Lee Freund of Indiahoma, Okla.; one sister, Mona Covert of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Trey, Brooklyn, Lucas, Maddox, Tristan, Cooper, Michael and Caleah; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, with Father Kyle Dugan as celebrant. Private inurnment will be in Conway Springs Cemetery, Second Addition.
