Wilbur “Bill” J. Gregory,
Wilbur “Bill” J. Gregory, 84, of Valley Center, passed away on June 11, 2025. He was
born on Dec. 13, 1940, in Wichita, and was preceded in death by his mother, Joy Allegra
Whitesell; his father and stepmother, Gene and Ruth Gregory; and grandparents, Wilbur
Elmer and Marcia Gregory.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Gregory, and later married Eileen
Gregory, who survives him. He also was preceded by his brother, Robert Val (Ted)
Gregory; and children, Stacy and Rick.
Bill is survived by his wife, Eileen Gregory; brother, Dick Gregory (Shirley); sisters,
Ruth Feather and Cindy Waller; daughter, Marcia Dillon (Neal); grandchildren, Michele
Womack, Brandi Frank, Nikki Krafczik, Danielle Wilson and Tyler Gies; several great-
grandchildren; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Bill graduated from Derby High School in 1958 and was vice president of his senior
class, and was an active member of the high school football team. Bill retired from
Uarco Business Forms after many years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of
Lodge 273. He also was a member of the Midian Shrine Temple. He was an avid golfer
and a dedicated league bowler, who found great joy in the friendships those hobbies
brought.
Loved deeply by his family and friends, Bill will be remembered for his warmth, his
sense of humor, and the way he brought people together.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Monday, June 16, with family present from 5 -7 p.m., at
Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy, Clearwater.
A service to honor and celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at
Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, 1600 W. 27th St. N., Wichita. Burial will be at the
Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater. Food and fellowship will follow the service at
Clonmel Community Hall, 18402 W. 71st S., Viola.
