Shannon Marie Strunk (Wiseman), born on April 4, 1965, in Wichita, was sent to join our Lord in Heaven on July 28, 2025, in Garden Plain, after a nine-month battle with cancer.

Shannon is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Joseph Strunk; children, Jacqueline Standley (Nathaniel) and Jason Strunk; brother, Mark Wiseman; and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, and uncles. Shannon is preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Pavey, and father, Richard Wiseman.

After graduating from Campus High School and completing some technical college classes, Shannon worked at One Day Jewelry as an amazing saleswoman and was able to travel to various states and countries with her beloved friends. After marrying Joseph on June 20, 1998, Shannon made the ultimate sacrifice of leaving the workforce and becoming a homemaker to care for her husband and two children, whom she loved and adored. Shannon also volunteered as a first grade religion teacher for St. Anthony of Padua’s PSR program in Garden Plain. Outside of her volunteer work, Shannon enjoyed spending time on her porch, taking care of plants, spending time at the pool, nights at the local bar, and lake trips. Her love for her first graders, plants, and friends reflected in her caring and soft-hearted spirit.

Those who knew Shannon will remember her for her love of animals, infectious smile, forgiving heart, and ability to empathize with any person she encountered. The rosary for the restful repose of Shannon’s soul will be held Thursday, July 31, at 6 p.m., and the Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 1, at 10 a.m., both at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 19230 W. 29th St. N., Colwich.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Shannon’s name to St Anthony of Padua’s PSR program, 615 N. Main, Garden Plain, KS 67050.

Wulf-Ast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
