Bert Kingsley
Alberta C. “Bert” Kingsley, 96, of Conway Springs, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, at Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire.
Bert was born May 31, 1929, at Goddard, to Leo Jacob Stump and Mary Ann (May) Stump. She grew up near Aleppo and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Andale High School. The family moved to Conway Springs and Bert began working in private homes at a very young age.
Bert was united in marriage to Ivan Dwaine Kingsley on Nov. 9, 1949, in Conway Springs. They made their home at Conway Springs their entire married life. Bert was a homemaker but also worked a short time at the local donut shop and at Joe’s Market. She loved her family, playing board games and playing cards with her grandkids. Ivan passed away on April 28, 1997.
Bert was devoted to her Catholic faith and a was longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. She was a past president of St. Joseph Altar Society and truly enjoyed getting together with her circle to quilt. Bert also was a sacristan for the church from 1998 to 2017. She enjoyed music and had a lovely voice. She sang at many church weddings in Conway Springs.
Bert also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Kingsley; one grandson, Chad Kingsley; one granddaughter, Aubrey Simmons; one great-grandson, Alexander Cole; four brothers, Leonard, Edward, Richard and Norbert Stump; and six sisters, Doris Lubbers, Leona Conrady, Marcelline Henning, Mary Ann Seibold, Eleanor Daffron and Ruth Dexter.
She is survived by three sons, Randy, Dwaine and Steve Kingsley; two daughters, Sharon Wilkerson and Debbie Tuzicka; daughter-in-law, Debbie Kingsley; one sister, Kathleen Wilken; sisters-in-law, Joy Kingsley and Sharon Stump; brother-in-law, Ken Dexter; grandchildren, Robin, Kendra, Dayna, Ryan, Lindsey, Kelsey, Daylon, Jason, Sabrina, Myleigh, Nathan, Cody, Jake, Travis, Rachel, and Cole; great-grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Emma, Carson, Niklas, Kellen, Olivia, Madison, Kyra, Lillian, Annabelle, Ruby, Abe, Grayson, Braxton, Hadley, Charlie, Connor, Aiden, Emily, Julie, and Kelly; great-great-grandchildren, Alex, Silas, Holden, and Quinn; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Rosary will be at 10 a.m. followed by funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. Interment will follow in St.
Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
