Jack W. Ferguson, 84, retired TSgt for the United States Air Force, of Haysville, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 5, at West Haysville Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1938, in Lego, W.V., the son of Otto Clarence Ferguson and Mary Kitchen. Jack graduated from Mt. Vernon Academy in 1956. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, devoting his life to his country. He served four tours in Vietnam and received numerous medals and awards during his years of service.

He married Patricia Britt on May 15, 1970, in Topeka. During their marriage, Jack and Pat enjoyed traveling to Europe while Jack was stationed overseas. They moved to Haysville in 1975, where Jack would go on to take a wood working class, igniting his passion and love for the craft. With Pat by his side, they would create holiday decorations for their community. Jack loved meeting people and used his outgoing personality, spending 25 years on the Haysville Fall Festival Committee. He and Pat were always willing to lend a hand. They were honored with the Community Spirit award. Jack also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of West Haysville Baptist Church.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Patricia Ferguson; loyal dog, Daisy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mary Ferguson; brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Homer, Carl, Hubert and Otto; as well as sisters, Mary, Johanna, Helen, Norma, Betty and Wanna.
