Charles Robert Bales was born on April 10, 1940, in Wichita, and he passed away early Friday morning, May 15, 2026, after a courageous fight with cancer.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Debbie Bales; his daughter, Darla (Leo) Larkin; his step-daughters, Tracy (Vaughn) Smith, Shannon (Greg) Woods, and Amy Wingert; and 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Public visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, and funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita.
