Betty Jo Boone, 66, of Conway Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Teresa, Wichita.

Betty was born Aug. 24, 1958 at Orange, Va., to James and Pauline (Gardner) Chambers. She grew up in Roanoke, Va., where she attended the local public schools. She graduated from Northside High School with the class of 1976.

Betty married Timothy Ferris and to this union one daughter, Jennifer, was born. She later married James Charles “Chuck” Boone and a son, James Michael, was born. Chuck passed away in 1996.

Betty first worked in photo development and later weaving looms for Burlington Industries before moving to Maize. She later began working on the production line at Coleman Company in Wichita. At the time of her passing, she was the office administrator at Bulk Conveyor (BCI), Wichita.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Tull of Conway Springs; one son, James Michael Boone of Port Henry, N.Y.; one brother, Danny Chambers of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Susan de la Cruz of Peachtree City, Ga., and Joyce Looney of Virginia; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 4-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at The Cottage, 8720 S. Hoover Road, Haysville.
