Clifford G. Boone
Clifford G. Boone, 79, retired Boeing Aircraft supervisor, of Conway Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at his residence.
Clifford was born June 28, 1945, in Wichita to George Tingley Boone and Margaret Mary (Mertens) Boone. He grew up in Derby and attended Derby public schools. He graduated from Derby High School with the class of 1963.
Clifford enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in September 1963, where he served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He was assigned as a MOS 3500 driver and was a guard on base, known as a chaser, for 13 months in Iceland. He was honorably discharged in October 1966.
Clifford was united in marriage to Toni Jean Highfill on Feb. 11, 1967, in Wichita, and to this union two children were born: Rebbecca and Christphor. The family moved to Conway Springs in 1982.
Clifford later married Elaine Anne (Chance) Bell on Aug. 9, 1991, in Andover. Elaine passed away on Feb. 22, 2022.
Clifford began working in aircraft manufacturing for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita in 1971. He retired on March 19, 2001, from the modification flight line department after 30 years as a supervisor.
Clifford also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Boone.
He is survived by one daughter, Rebbecca (Kevin) Zoglmann of Conway Springs; one son, Chris (Misti) Boone of Wichita; two sisters, Sue (Mark) Reiske of Lawrence, and Sharon James of Marion; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Visitation with family present will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Ebersole Mortuary, Conway Springs. Graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Conway Springs Cemetery (Second Addition).
