Daniel E. Peterson, 67, formerly of Argonia, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at the Pratt Health and Rehab, Pratt.

Daniel Edwin Peterson was born March 15, 1957, in Wichita to Kenneth Ray Peterson and Violet Fern (Davy) Peterson. He departed this life Jan. 22, 2025, in Pratt at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Dan grew up on the family farm six miles west and 1/2-mile south of Conway Springs. He attended Conway Springs public schools and graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1976.

Dan worked at Cargill in Cheney, and then a local trailer factory for one winter in Cheney. He later worked in sheetmetal at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita for over four years. He returned to help with the farming when his father’s health failed. Dan became disabled in the late 1990s but still maintained yards in the Argonia community.

Dan was baptized in the Milton United Methodist Church, Milton, but later attended the Argonia Friends Church, Argonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tim Peterson.

Dan is survived by one brother, Wayne Peterson and wife Kathy of Argonia; one sister, Mary Loretta Kocher and husband Duane of Stafford; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Argonia Friends Church with the Rev. Mike Neifert officiating. Interment was in Eden Cemetery, Milton.
