Donna J. (Vancuren) Bates, age 84, passed away on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026.

Visitation will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Webb Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy, Clearwater. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 , at Viola Presbyterian Church, 304 S. Grice St, Viola.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bates; parents, Robert and Louise (Ralston) Vancuren; and sisters, Linda Ingram and Ruth Etheridge.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Tom) Wells of Broomfield, Colo., Teresa (Ronnie) Tatum of Calhoun, Mo., and Laurie Horgan of Onaga, Kan.; siblings, Mary Braden of Rose Hill, and Judy (Gary) Jones of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Erin, Ben, Matt, Jerry, and Donnie; and great-grandchildren, Raylan, Joe, Jillian, and Barrett.
