Glen Walton “Butch” Fieser
Glen Walton “Butch” Fieser, 76, of Norwich, farmer and stockman, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita. He was born Dec. 26, 1948, in Wichita, along with his twin brother, Gene, to Earl Jennings Fieser and Irene Dorothy (Messmer) Fieser. Butch, as he was affectionately known, grew up in the Norwich community and attended Norwich public schools. He graduated from Norwich High School with the class of 1967. He continued his education for two years at Hutchinson Junior College in Hutchinson. Butch was united in marriage to Debra Lea (Nelson) Childers on April 17, 1988, in Norwich. They made their home southeast of Norwich, where they farmed and raised cattle. Butch was a member of the Norwich Methodist Church and the Kansas Shorthorn Association. He also served on the Bennett Township Board for 37 years. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Fieser, and his twin brother, Gene Fieser; and his two sisters, Caroline Plummer and Loretta Benson. Butch is survived by his wife, Debby Fieser; one son, Bryce Childers and wife Sonya West-Childers of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Alaina and Oliver; and a number of other relatives and many friends. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Norwich Methodist Church, with funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17. Interment will be in Upchurch Cemetery, Norwich. Arrangements are by Ebersole Mortuary, Conway Springs. Online condolences and guest book are available www.ebersolemortuary.com.
