Gwendolyn “Gwen” Tiemeyer
Gwendolyn “Gwen” Tiemeyer, 73, died suddenly, on Monday, July 15, at her home outside Portland, Ore. A private memorial service was held in Mt. Vernon, Kan., on Aug. 17 to remember and celebrate her life.
Gwen was the daughter of Urban and Theresa (Goulart) Tiemeyer. She graduated from Garden Plain High School in 1969.
She enlisted in the U.S. Navy the following January and graduated from the Naval Hospital School during the summer of 1970 as a Navy Corpsman. After her military service, Gwen moved first to New York City, then to Las Vegas, Nev., where she worked for the Nevada Blood Services for several years. Later, she moved to Portland, where she was a manager at Ernesto’s Restaurant until she retired.
She leaves behind a son, Vincent James Fogliani, (Meghan Murphy), and three grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey and Vincent. Her siblings, Al Tiemeyer, Ken Tiemeyer, and Jackie (Tiemeyer) Ceccanti, also survive. Her parents and a younger sister, Sherilyn (Tiemeyer) Harpin, pre-deceased her.
Gwen will be missed by all who knew her.
