James Kenneth Ales, loving husband, father and Ata, age 88, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 17, both at the Church of the Nazarene, Clearwater.
On June 6, 1961, James married his beautiful bride, Darlene. They were married for 62 years.
James spent his career in aircraft, with five years at Boeing and 31 years at Cessna, where he retired.
James was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (Suhodlcan) Ales; sons, James Ales, Jr. and
Michael Ales; sisters, Anne Irvin, Mildred Ales, Betty Devoss, Frances O’Banion, Mary Belmonti, and
Eleanor Madderman; and brothers, Thomas Ales, Edward Ales, William Ales, Charles Ales, and Frank
Ales.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene (Freed) Ales of Arma, Kan.; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Hilligus of
Olathe; sons, David (Kelly) Ales of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Gregory (Elaine) Ales of Arma; sister,
Verna Hasselman of Kansas City, Mo; grandchildren, Capt. Joshua (Tamara) Ales, Alissa (Scott)
MacDonald, Chad (Mark) Hilligus, Eric Ales, Jacob (Angela) Ales, Erin (Phil) Kuchar, Joel Ales, and
Molly (Eric) Altmen; and 13 great-grandchildren.
