John D. “Shorty” Davis, Sr, age 94, of Clearwater, retired Cessna sheet metal mechanic and farmer, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, April 21, with family present 5-7 p.m., at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday, April 22, at Clearwater Cemetery.

John Dee Davis, Sr., was born on Friday, May 25, 1928, in Poteau, Okla., to his parents, John Corbett Davis and Lucinda (Rhodes) Davis. He was united in marriage to Ruth Bernice Deaver on Feb. 25, 1955, in Wichita. She preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 2012.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; son, Danny Davis; sisters, Lorene Farrar, Frances Claycamp, Ruth Hiatt, and Ruby Artery; and an infant brother and brother, Henry Davis.

He is survived by his sons, John D. Davis, Jr., of Wichita, Ron (Michelle) Davis of Wichita, Kevin Davis of Wichita, Evan (Dawn) Davis of Springfield, Mo., and Tim (Donna) Davis of Clearwater; step-son, CJ Campbell of Joplin, Mo.; step-daughter, Charlotte Houck of Wichita; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
