Judith M. "Judy" Thimesch, 80, died peacefully on Sept. 27, 2023, at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Mulvane, after dealing with the lifetime effects of getting polio when she was 14 years old.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1942, in Cheney to Joe and Olga Thimesch.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert; nephew, Mike Thimesch; sister-in-law, Kathy; and brother-in-law, Alvin Merrill. She is survived by her siblings, Dan (Ruth) Thimesch, Irene Merrill, Carolyn (Duane) Bergkamp and Janice May.

Judy was the historian of the family. Her nieces and nephew were amazed how she could recall events and dates from years ago.

The family wishes to thank Villa Maria Nursing Home for the excellent care that she received.

Recitation of the rosary will be said at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Garden Plain.
