Karen Ann Struble, 81, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.

Karen was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Wichita, the daughter of Jacob Michael Ternes and Frieda Rose (Ast) Ternes. She grew up in Conway Springs, where she attended St. Joseph Catholic School. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita in 1961.

Karen was united in marriage to Victor LeRoy Struble on Sept. 29, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. They made their first home in Wichita before moving to Conway Springs in April of 1963, where they raised their family of four children.

Karen graduated from Professional Beauty College in 1970 and began working as a cosmetologist in Conway Springs. She retired in 2004, but also made special occasion cakes and floral arrangements from 1985 to 2020.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harlan Ternes and Thomas Ternes; and one sister, Janet Bagwell.

Karen was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, where she was active in music as a cantor. She was a member of the church Altar Society and Marriage Encounter.

Karen is survived by her husband, Vic Struble; one son, Jeffrey Struble (Arturo) of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Doreen Mueller (Dan) of Wichita, Nicole Bornhorst (Steve) of Wichita, and Angela Doffing (Dave) of Conway Springs; four brothers, Philip Ternes (Pam) of Dexter, Mo., Allen Ternes (Pat) of Wichita, Tony Ternes (Anne) of Conway Springs, and Pat Ternes (Lisa) of Conway Springs; three sisters, Connie Foster of Goddard, Joyce Brown (Don) of Wichita, and Tina Chase of Dexter, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Gayle Ternes of Tulsa, Okla., and Judy Ternes of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and many friends.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, with Father Kyle Dugan as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
