Kim Ruth Friess
Kim Ruth Friess, 68, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, 2024, at her home southwest of Conway Springs.
Kim was born Nov. 11, 1956, at Wichita, the daughter of Louis Arthur Jaloma and Doris Laverne Jodon. She spent her early childhood in Wichita where she attended Wichita public schools. She moved with her family to Conway Springs in 1972 and graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1974. She continued her education at Hutchinson Community College before attending St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita.
Kim was united in marriage to Ronnie Joseph Friess on Sept. 9, 1978, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. They made their home in the Conway Springs community where they raised their family of five children. In 2003, Kim worked as a paraprofessional for the co-op schools of Conway Springs, Goddard and Clearwater. She retired in 2012 but later continued to volunteer in education at St. Joseph Catholic School in Conway Springs.
Kim was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She served the church in numerous capacities.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, as well as her step-father Raymond Blackwell.
Kim is survived by her husband, Ronnie Friess; children, Katy (Steve) Ostrander; Robert (Lindsey) Friess, David (Tracee) Friess, Philip (Rachel) Friess, and Scott Friess; brothers, Keith Jaloma, and Russ Chitwood; 12 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, also at the church. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
