Marie Prilliman
Marie Prilliman, 93, of Conway Springs, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at her home.
Eleanor Marie (Ternes) Wamsley Prilliman was born July 12, 1931, at Perth to Albert Joseph Ternes and Clara Mary (Stuhlsatz) Ternes. Marie moved with her family from the Perth area to a farm northwest of Conway Springs, where she attended the local public school and St. Joseph Catholic School. She later attended high school in Wichita, and began working as a young girl.
Marie was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Wamsley on April 12, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. They made their home in Conway Springs, where they raised their family. Marie became a jack of all trades, working in their family masonry business and assisting with the family farming. Don passed away Jan. 13, 1990.
Marie later married Leonard LeRoy Prilliman on July 12, 1991, and was blessed with the addition of three more children and their families. She and Leonard built a new home in 2000 in Conway Springs. Leonard also preceded her in death July 26, 2009.
Marie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, and the Altar Society.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Pete, Leo, Jake, Wendell, Francis, and Father Cletus Ternes, O.M.I.; three sisters, Sister Mary Beth Ternes, Lucille Ricke and Clara Ricke; one daughter, Jackie Bursack; and one granddaughter, Nicole Wamsley.
Marie is survived by her family, Bob Wamsley and wife Mary of Winfield, J. R. Wamsley and wife Linda of Wichita, Debbie Creed and husband Kent of Waterloo, Iowa, Patty Bishop of Conway Springs, Ron Prilliman and wife Lesley of Santa Cruz, Calif., Kathleen Avalon of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Dave Prilliman and wife Christy of Conway Springs; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, and funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
