Marilyn Ann (Mies) Peterson, 63, of Conway Springs, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita.

Marilyn was born Jan. 4, 1960, at Wichita to Nicklaus Matthew Mies and LaVern Clara (Koster) Mies. She grew up in Conway Springs, where she attended Conway Springs public schools. She graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1979.

She was united in marriage to Timothy Earl Peterson on Sept. 8, 1979, in Conway Springs. They made their home in Argonia. They moved to Conway Springs in 2016 and made their home at 129 S. Highland.

Marilyn had worked in food service for Spring View Manor and at Maurice’s Restaurant in Suppesville. She also had worked in home care.

Marilyn was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs.

She was preceded in death by her father on Oct. 18, 2017, and one brother, Duane Paul Mies, on Feb. 25, 2021.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Tim Peterson; one son, Troy Peterson; her mother, LaVern Mies; three brothers, David Mies of Conway Springs, Glenn (Ed) Mies of Conway Springs, and Gary Mies of Goddard; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, followed by funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
