Martha Kathleen “Katie” Barber, 83, died May 14, 2025, at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital, McKinney, Texas.

She was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Greensburg, Kan., the daughter of Chester Norval and Frances Ruth (Fish) Taylor. Katie graduated from Greensburg High School in 1960. She had retired from being a library aide in public schools. She had lived in Greensburg, Joy, Stafford, Nashville, Clearwater and Dighton, Kan., and Vernon and Prosper, Texas. On May 29, 1960, Katie married Floyd Gene Barber in Greensburg. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2008.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Tari) Barber, and Steven Barber; a daughter Marti (Brian) Stacy; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheila K. Robertson.

Funeral service and celebration of Katie’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Cornerstone Fellowship North Campus, Greensburg, with Jim Barber officiating. A visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. to the service time Saturday. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
