Mary Rose Eck, 91, retired floral designer and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023.

Mary Rose was born on Oct. 1, 1932, to Frank and Josephine (Bohrer) Youngers in Willowdale, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Herman, Louis (Alice), Robert, Harold, Paul, James (JoAnn), Joseph (Sandra), Julius and Elmer Youngers; sisters, Helen (Charlie) Gehlen, Frances Youngers, Genevieve (Martin) Miller, Theresa (Cliff) Elpers and Alice (Edgar) Burenheide; and sister-in-law, Mariann (Norbert) Eck Hampel.

Mary Rose is survived by her children, Elaine (Gary) Squires, Belinda (Hugh) Rausch, Nancy (Donald) Jackson and John (Regina) Eck; sister-in-law; Alfreda Youngers; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Recitation of the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, both at St. Rose Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Mary Rose’s name to St. Rose Catholic Church Building Fund, 4813 NE 150th Cheney, KS 67025.
