Michael ‘Mike’ Pike
Michael A. “Mike” Pike, age 77, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023.
Visitation 12-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, with family present 5:30-7 p.m. at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov 3, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Haysville. Michael was born the first son of Allen and Delta Pike on Feb. 10, 1946, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He attended Clearwater USD 264 schools for all 12 years. After Clearwater High School, he went on to graduate from Butler County Community College. He worked at Cessna for two years. He joined the Air National Guard on Sept. 9, 1965. He was activated and sent to Korea from 1968 to 1969 during the Vietnam War.
He worked for more than 45 years at McConnell Air Force Base for the Kansas Adjutant Generals Department (AGD). Mike enjoyed many activities in his life including Clearwater High School sports and activities, bowling, town team slow pitch, and town team basketball. Mike was a Master Mason, charter member of the Midian Shrine Sumner County Wheatwackers, Past Commander of the Wheatwackers, Midian Temple class director, Midian Shriners Camel Herder, and an Honorary Midian Shriners Keystone Kop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis “Allen” and Delta (Whitesell) Pike; brother, Randy Pike; and brothers-in-law, Larry Bush and Butch Dreiling.
Survivors include his son, Chad (Maranda) Pike of Clearwater; daughter, Nikki (Brian) Christiansen of Clearwater; son, Derek (Tara) Pike of Manistique, Mich.; sisters, Veda Bush of Chickasha, Okla., and Dixie Dreiling of Wichita; and grandchildren, Aubrey and Zane Gill, Carter, Owen, and Jack Pike, Brynna, Brylie, and Bryce Christiansen, Cooper and Mackenzie Pike.
