Patrick James Ternes, 65, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita.

Pat was born July 21, 1960, in Wichita, the youngest son of Jacob Michael Ternes and Frieda Rose (Ast) Ternes. He grew up in Conway Springs, where he attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He attended Conway Springs High School and graduated with the class of 1978.

Pat was united in marriage to Lisa Lynn (Brown) Garver on May 7, 1983, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. They made their home in Conway Springs, where they raised their family of three children.

Pat began working for BRC Bearing before going to work at Chance Rides Manufacturing as a customer service trouble shooter in Wichita. He retired in August of 2025 after 38 years with the company.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harlan Ternes and Thomas Ternes; and two sisters, Janet Bagwell and Karen Struble.

Pat was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ternes; one son, Zach Ternes, two daughters, Abby (Trevor) Tarrant and Lexi Ternes, all of Conway Springs; three brothers, Philip Ternes (Pam) of Dexter, Mo., Allen Ternes (Pat) of Wichita, and Tony Ternes (Anne) of Conway Springs, KS; three sisters, Connie Foster of Goddard, Joyce Brown (Don) of Wichita, and Tina Chase of Dexter, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Gayle Ternes of Tulsa, Okla., and Judy Ternes of Wichita; brother-in-law, Vic Struble of Conway Springs; two grandchildren, Thea and Knox Tarrant; and a number of other relatives and many friends.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, and funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Clonmel, with Father Kyle Dugan as celebrant. Interment will in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
