Roger Lee Bunck, 81, of Viola, passed away April 14, 2025, with family at his side. He was born Christmas Day, 1943.

He retired from Cessna Aircraft, as tooling superintendent, after 30 years. Roger served in the Kansas Air National Guard and was deployed to Korea in 1968. He took pride in his service.

He was passionate about farming and beef cattle, living on the Bunck family’s 100-year farm. He was a devoted family man; the births of each grandchild were special to him. He and Pat had a 40-year love story as described by their daughter. His hobbies were cars, auctions and antiques, and he had a booth at Paramount Antique Mall for 20 years. He had an extensive collection of license plate tags, plus signs and lanterns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Grace Bunck; his son, Craig Bunck; and his brother, Johnny Bunck. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bunck; his son, Greg (Megan) Bunck; his step-son, Jimmie (Joan) Mercer; his step-daughter, Crystal (Joe) Voth; his grandsons, John, Henry and Alexander Bunck; his step-grandchildren, Errin English, TJ Ward, Matthew Mercer, Ashley (Patrick) Millsap and Andrew Mercer; and his step-great-grandchildren, Tucker Thompson, Zoey Mercer, Roman and Banks Millsap.

The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, and Mass will follow at 10 a.m., both at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Garden Plain. Burial with military honors will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
