Stephen "Steve" Manford Bronston
Stephen "Steve" Manford Bronston, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023.
He was born on June 29, 1946, to Jack and Pauline Hope (Hughes) Bronston. Steve served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Professionally, he worked for Disney Animation, Xerox and in tooling for the first space shuttle and two of the Apollo missions. He retired from Cessna Aircraft after 25 years as a tooling engineer.
His imagination, which got him into trouble plenty of times, was the root of his soul. He was the kindest and most loving man especially to his family and friends. No one was a stranger and people felt blessed to be around him. He was charismatic, funny and made the world more interesting. Steve-o-hot rod finally has his new body in heaven.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Naomi Bronston; and sister; Pamela Jay. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Mary; daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Rozendal and their son, Bronston Rozendal; and nieces and grandnieces, Paula Hoose and her daughters Victoria and Elizabeth Kirk, and April Herring and her daughter Ashley Herring. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Kathy Hedahl, Carolyn Roufs and Naomi (Gary) Edwards, brother-in-law, Jim (Gisela) Roufs, and their sons, Drew and Dawson; and nieces Rebekah and Bethany Hedahl and nephews Jason and Josh Hedahl.
As per Steve's wishes, a private family service will be held. Per family wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve's name may be given to the Cheney Pool Fund, P.O. Box 1, Cheney, KS 67025.
