Terry Elton Dickey was born on April 15, 1947, to Dale and Wilma (Davis) Dickey in Fort Scott, Kan. He entered eternal life on April 19, 2023.

Terry was married to Sue Vaught on Aug. 5, 1967, and they shared 55 loving years of marriage, and welcomed three children – Jeffrey, Tara and Steven. Terry worked as a facility maintenance manager for Boeing for 25 years.

His real passion was racing and cars. Terry raced dirt track cars for many years and enjoyed many victories before turning his attention to helping his two sons build their drag racing cars. After he retired, he spent most of his time in the garage, "Papa's Garage," working on cars.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Wilma, and his brother, Sam Dickey. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children; Jeffrey, Tara and Steven and their spouses; one sister; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a large racing family who will miss him.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at First Baptist Church, Haysville.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Baptist Church of Haysville, 125 S. Delos Ave., Haysville, KS 67060, or Union Rescue Mission, 2800 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
