Charlotte May Himes, 91 of Wichita, formerly of Conway Springs, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2025 in Wichita.

Charlotte May (Shobe) Himes was born May 12, 1934, on a farm east of Conway Springs to Paul Marvin Shobe and Ethel (Prilliman) Shobe. She grew up in the Conway Springs community, where she attended rural school before attending Conway Springs public schools. She graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1952.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Kenneth Roy Himes on Dec. 14, 1952, in Conway Springs, and the couple was blessed with two children. The family lived in Manhattan, Kan., where Kenneth attended Kansas State University. In 1959, they moved to Costa Mesa, Calif, where Charlotte assisted Kenneth at his architectural firm. Charlotte returned to Wichita in 1992 and entered the real estate business, where she worked as a real estate agent for JP Weigand and Associates for many years.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Betty Ravenstien and Connie Hartman.

She is survived by her brother, Don Shobe and wife Jean of Goddard; her son, Steven Himes and wife Nancy Eakin of Huntley, Ill; her daughter, Kenna Flicker of Wichita; her grandchildren, Jolie Quick and husband Mike, Jessica Himes, Elana Miller and husband Shaun, and Shana Mencher and husband Eric; her six great-grandchildren, Siena, Avery, Kensie, Delaney, Keira, and Aubrey; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Conway Springs Methodist Church with Chaplain Kent Stephens of Good Shepherd Hospice officiating. Interment followed in Conway Springs Cemetery.
