Ralph Dean Struthers, 77, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.

He was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Wichita, the son of Ralph Elsworth Struthers and Dorcas Nadine (Zimmerman) Struthers.

Dean, as he was affectionately known, spent his early childhood in Clearwater, where he attended kindergarten at Clearwater Elementary School. He was confirmed intellectually disabled and attended Starky institute in Wichita. He began working on the family farm at a very young age. He later made his home in Winfield. He had been a resident of Spring View Manor since June 17, 2026, in Conway Springs.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his family, Earl Struthers (Fran) of Clearwater, Lois Struthers of Clearwater, Jack Burkholder (Kelly) of Wichita, Jonas Struthers (Tiffany) of Clearwater, Gloria Shrewsberry (Matt) of Winfield, Denise Burkholder (Barry) of Towanda, Maria Struthers of Mulvane, Sara Schmidt (Dennis) of Douglass, Faith McNelley of Clearwater, Crystal Hough (Kyle) of Wichita, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Conway Springs Methodist Church, Conway Springs, with Pastor Blake Orr officiating. Interment will be in Eden Cemetery, Milton.
