Michael Bernard Ahne, 78, of Conway Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.
Mike was born Aug. 5, 1948, at Little Rock, Ark., to Bernard James “Ben” Ahne and Angeline Barbara “Angie” (Newman) Ahne. He moved with his family to Idaho Springs, Idaho, before moving to Wichita in 1952. They moved to a farm four miles north and 2-1/2 miles west of Conway Springs in 1955.

Mike was united in marriage to Donna Kay Robben on Dec. 21, 1976, at Clonmel. They made their home in Conway Springs their entire married life.

Mike was a trackman for the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 35 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vicki Doughty; one brother, Christopher Ahne; and one son, Heath Ahne.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Ahne; one daughter, Kristi Pierce (Justin) of Dighton, Kan.; one brother, Mark Ahne of Cheney; four sisters, Betty Kyle (Keith) of Akron, Ohio, Marilyn Simmons (Bruce) of Shell Knob, Mo., and Sharon Rundell (Jim) and Diana Brown (Lance), all of Wichita; three grandchildren, Trinity, Kenadee and Cody; many nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs, with Father Kyle Dugan officiating. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, Fort Riley. Arrangements are by Ebersole Mortuary, Conway Springs.
