After delay, newspapers delivered

TSnews Most TSnews subscribers in Goddard and an unknown number in Clearwater and Haysville, and potentially elsewhere, were without last week’s newspaper until Monday of this week. The newspapers were apparently misplaced at the postal sorting facility in Wichita, said publisher Paul Rhodes.

Sedgwick County Fair to mark 80 years of fairs

TSnews The Sedgwick County Fair gets started next week on Wednesday and will run four nights, July 10-13. This year’s theme is “Celebrate our roots – 80 Years of the Fair.” The 80 years of the Fair have actually taken place over 85 years, as World War II led to a multi-year stretch without a Fair.

Cashless tolls

On July 1, the Kansas Turnpike will become a cashless driving experience. The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) has been working for some time to get ready for the move to cashless tolling.
Gantries like this one on I-335 between Emporia and Topeka will track the number of miles that Kansas Turnpike users drive. A majority of drivers use KTAG and won’t notice a difference.
