TSnews ARGONIA – Fire chief Paul Conklin reported that the City of Argonia was awarded $5,550 from the state fire marshal’s office. Conklin said he had requested just more than $11,000 to purchase four new bunker suits for firefighters.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – If you’ve got a past due water bill with the City of Conway Springs, City Hall staff is working to help you catch up. At last week’s city council meeting, city staff members reported on their efforts to collect past due water bills.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council approved a charter ordinance at Monday’s meeting that will allow funding of capital improvement projects by resolution rather than a public vote.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. A change was made recently, and there are now different menus for Sedgwick County and Sumner County.

The Sumner County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred Sunday evening. According to the sheriff ’s office, the call came in at 6:14 p.m, and was reported from the 1200 block on K-49 Highway North.

While Haysville doesn't yet have properties listed on the National and/or State Register of Historic Places, residents have been forward-thinking in preparing for that possibility.

Mrs. Amanda Cranmer has given the city officers a 90-day option on the Cranmer park and springs for $4,000, which should be pleasing news to everybody here. Now is the time for Conway Springs to do something for itself.
