Frozen or fresh beef ?

Extension A Kansas State University doctoral student is reporting results indicating that freezing and thawing beef doesn’t impact a consumer’s eating experience, compared to eating the same product fresh. Erin Beyer presented her results during K-State’s 110th annual Cattlemen’s Day on March 3.
Many consumers say it does not matter if their beef is fresh or frozen. Metro

Cheney Chamber makes donations

CHENEY – The Cheney Chamber of Commerce is using some of its reserve funds to help important causes around the community. At their March meeting, members of the local Chamber group approved a donation to help robotics students from Cheney Middle School compete at the national level.

Next CS City Council meeting cancelled

CONWAY SPRINGS – Because of staffing changes at City Hall, the next Conway Springs City Council meeting, scheduled for March 28, has been cancelled. The next council meeting will be the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 11.

Emporia State names honor roll students

Emporia State University has named nearly 750 undergraduates to the university honor roll. To qualify for the university honor roll, students earned a minimum 3.80 semester grade point average in at least 12 graded hours.
