Student sets record for four-finger pushups A 21-year-old college student in China set a new world record for four-finger pushups on April 11, doing 22 pushups in one minute. Zhang Yuxuan even clapped his hands between each pushup, according to the UPI Odd Newsletter.

Goddard’s Haney named Teacher of the Year finalist

Melissa Haney, a science teacher at Explorer Elementary School in Goddard Unified School District 265, and Joanna Farmer, an agriculture teacher at Southeast High School, Wichita USD 259, were named Region 4 finalists for the 2024 Kansas Teacher of the Year award during an awards ceremony on March 25 in Wichita. This award recognizes excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms of the state.

Goddard council discusses paving Tanganyika entrance road

GODDARD – During Monday evening’s Goddard City Council meeting, council members discussed plans to pave Hawkins Lane, the road leading up to the public entrance of Tanganyika Wildlife Park. The road has always been unpaved, and that has come to seem more and more out of place as Tanganyika has attracted an increasing number of visitors over the years, city staff said.
