That means we were able to get this week's newspaper off to press ahead of our normal schedule, which routinely includes going to press Tuesday night, printing early Wednesday morning and finishing distribution to post offices and rack sites in our area on Wednesday afternoon.

Random Thoughts What a wild weekend of football, especially for our three football teams that were still playing. First and foremost, congratulations to the Conway Springs Cardinals and Cheney Cardinals on reaching their respective State championship games, and to the Eisenhower Tigers on their record-setting season.

Random Thoughts Last week, I wrote about sharing my birthday weekend with my niece and two nephews. The family events had a second chapter this past weekend, as we reconvened for the 80th birthday of my mother, Alice.

For many of the past nine years, my birthday has been shared with my brother's triplets. On Monday, London, Miles and Griffin turned 9.
